Review
"Escape to New York"
Writer: Doug Moench
Artists: Joe Phillips & Bob Dvorak
Scott, Barda and Oberon move from Bailey, New Hampshire to Manhattan. Scott feels that the Justice league will have less a chance of finding him and recruiting him for their world saving adventures there.
When they arrive in and settle into a new place in Greenwich Village they go out for food. Motherbox tells Scott to head to Washington Square Park where they see a young escape artist performing by the name of Shilo Norman.
While in a straight jacket, a thief takes Shilo’s hat full of money, $2.75 to be precise. Shilo runs after him and stops him only to be confronted by three of the thief’s mates. Mister Miracle and Big Barda come to his aid.
Scott Free takes Shilo aside and says he wants to chat about a little matter of passing a torch. Which leaves Oberon gobsmacked.
Overall Rating: 6/10
Not a bad read, not pack full of action but a reasonably important issue in the DC universe as Scott Free begins his handover of the Mister Miracle identity to Shilo Norman.
